Namaste and Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a peaceful and joyous Christmas and New Year and if you are anything like me you will be thinking that it was all over in a blink of the eye!! After all that busyness and rushing around, hopefully we can all spend a little time now reflecting on the past year and setting intentions for the New Year.
Hurrah! The days are beginning to get longer and we are emerging out of our cosy cocoons of winter and generating new buds of aspiration and intention.
I have found that setting intentions that are meaningful and that will be (relatively) easily achieved serve us the best, otherwise they very quickly fall by the wayside and I rapidly feel I have failed. As I sit here by the fireside, having spent so many happy hours with the people I love over the past 10 days or so I find I am asking myself …
- What brought me the most joy and happiness during 2017?
- When was I the most at peace?
- How did I grow and what did I learn?
- What intentions can I set for 2018?
- How can I give to others in 2018?
- How might I find more calm and peace during 2018?
- Can I commit, every day, in my hectic life to devoting a few minutes to inner peace and calm?
- Can I awake each morning with gratitude and a focus on what I do have rather than what I do not have?
Points such as these can be focussed on not only in our daily lives, but we can also make them a central point during our yoga sessions.
During savasana this Thursday at 5.50 pm we will spend some time on our sankalpas (intentions). When our mind is clear and calm just as it is when we are in Corpse Pose it is more likely that our sankalpas will take effect. The more we practice being in a meditative space, the more likely our wishes and our growth will take place.
Yoga Sessions during January
General Yoga sessions commence at 5.50pm again on Thursday 3rd January – the last in the current block. A new block of 5 sessions starts again on 11th January -NOW FULL
Next 8 Week Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation Course starts on Thursday 11th January at 7.30 – NOW FULL. Please advise me if you are interested in the following course which will start in the Spring.
Daytime Yoga Class – If you would be interested in a Restorative Yoga Class on a Monday or Friday morning at 10 am please let me know.
Yoga Therapy – private sessions – if you would like to deepen your yoga practice and focus on an aspect of your life in more detail then a block of private sessions might be the answer to bring self-knowledge, empowerment and nourishment but, above all, some life-changing tools to help you move forward with your life.
In the meantime this comes with wishes for health, love, peace, joy and all that you wish for in 2018 – and remember, that when we don’t get what we wish for, sometimes we do get what we need and this serves us well!!
